Vodafone Live! 3G

Today Vodafone launched their 3G network in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, as well as airports in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. I don't know how it'll go given the slow reception to Hutchison "3" but we'll see. Personally, I don't see the need for such technology. A phone is a phone. You make your calls and send your SMS. Do you REALLY need instant access to news? download movie trailers or make video calls? What is so urgent you can't wait to do at home/office and use broadband internet? Besides, the plans will probably cost a fortune. Finally, I thought phones are meant to be getting smaller. Some of those 3G phones are comparable to the NOKIA 5110 in terms of awkwardness to carry around.

Anyway, Vodafone chucked a launch party this arvo for all the contractors/partners involved in the project and yes, I skipped uni to be part of the party. What can I say? Free food, drinks and entertainment by Thirsty Merc :D

*looks at timestamp*

Is visitng my blog the first thing you do when you wake up?

Yes, going through a past exam paper takes a back seat when there is a Vodafone party on :)

Wow, a photo with Jackie o. Nice!

Well, I think 3G devices are currently overrated. There is a need for mobile devices with internet capabilities but the current devices just really suck.
