I feel so...free!!!

w00t! All finished! I was so relieved to walk out of Randwick Racecourse at midday yesterday after my last exam. Grins all round. The last two weeks had been torturous to say the least with so many late nights (including 2 all nighters), appetite for main meals gone (but not for snacks), hardly any exercise, my lifestyle just turned upside down. Ok, maybe my study skills are pretty bad so I deserved it. Either way, only 2 more sessions to go before I leave uni. Can you imagine that? It was only not that long ago on one hot January morning that I walked into UNSW and did my enrolment...As they say,'Time flies when you are enjoying it' (Huh? How does that work? I'm NOT enjoying it. Oh well, it's just 'Time flies' then. Hehe)

The past 24 hours had been crazy. After I came home, the plan was to type a covering letter for this job and get some sleep before cell group. But I ended up spending a long time typing the letter and then Albert asked me to shoot some hoops. Not having touched a basketball since high school, I said yes and we went to Tin-Lok's place to shoot around.

Dinner was at Chatswood with Charissa and Charmaine and since it was Thursday markets night on Victoria Ave, we had crepe from one of the market stalls. I've never tried savoury crepes so I ordered a beef provencale (What's provencale?? Can't they just keep it simple and call it Beef Crepe??). It was more filling than I thought it would be. Probably too much grease....

Cell group at Sam's place was pretty short as only 6 people attended. We did 'pray for country' night and this time it's Saudi Arabia (see Website) and also all the other missions happening this summer. Did you know, in Saudi Arabia, you will get persecuted if you are discovered to be a Christian? Leaders get hunted down and are subject to beatings, imprisonment and execution. Scary stuff!! We are so blessed that none of those things happen here. After praying it was time to check out Sam's brand new plasma TV and play some Need for Speed Underground. Highlight was probably doing drag racing in 4WD. Imagine doing that in Sydney on the M4 or something...

TELE3015 (aftermath)

Couldn't even walk straight this morning on the way to the bus stop, that's how un-corrdinated I was...Doing an allnighter makes you feel light-headed, as if you are 'stoned'.

So how did I go? well, here are the possible outcomes:

1. Just pass
2. Supplementary exam
3. Conceded Pass
4. Fail

So depressing ain't it. My decision not to do the third assignment may come back to haunt me...*sigh*

TELE3015

This is not good. Exam in 4 hours, I've been doing an all-nighter and the stuff is not getting through. I have a feeling I'll be redoing this subject next year.

I say otherwise.

Cockage??

Went to uni nice and early today (9am) and studied with Julie while Tin-Lok was doing his criminal law exam. We found a room in Morven Brown Building thinking we could get some peace and quiet to cram but instead had to put up with two hours of noise emanating from construction work in the CLB area. I didn't mind it so much since I was used to it from the days living in Hong Kong but noise pollution is still noise pollution. So much construction going on around uni at the moment...Detours here, detours there, extremely inconvenient to get around campus >.<

As for study, I got a fair bit of ELEC3017 done but still way behind. Lucky exam is on Friday afternoon so there should still be enough time but studying at home these days is non-existant...

For lunch we (the three of us + Tin-Lok's friend, Justin) went to this Chinese restaurant called Red Hat (no relation to the Linux distribution =P). It's great that even though we're in the middle of exams, we as Christians can still meet up with each other. Hebrews 10:24-25 puts it:

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching"

The food there is nice not to mention the large servings and we got a bit of a laugh from the menu as well (Thanks to Justin for the pic):

1 down, 3 to go

Exams started today and once again I screwed up. The signal processing paper was pretty hard, nothing like the past papers. Spent way too long on Q1, Q2 killed me and I only got bits from Q3 and Q4. Doesn't inspire much confidence for the rest of the exams does it? I'm so disillusioned with engineering at the moment. Maybe I should just quit and do...something else.

Yet another Boost Juice Bar opened in the city today (Bathurst St next to Energy Australia). I knew they would be giving out stuff so I went and checked it out after the exam. I was right, They had people handing out Boost Juice tattoos. Bleh. Free drinks on a warm day like today would be nice.

Warning: Boring Summer ahead

NTE, Missionaries, Holiday, Industrial Training...everyone is going away this summer. I guess ADSL will be my new best friend. How sad.

Oztag

UNSW Green 4 The Other Team 11

Oztag is under way again and I must say I was desperate to play after missing the winter season. During warm-up we were rocked by the news that Mark will be out indefinitely after injuring himself in his Monday Oztag game (bad luck mate). After 5 mins, it seemed deja vu had hit and we played where we left off last summer - letting the opposition score at will. By the midway point of the first half, we were down 8-0. We played better in the second half with Kris and Evan helping out and Wimalan, Sid (2) and Nitesh scoring tries but overall we were pretty average. Oh well, it's only one game but if we played the way like we did in that first half then it's going to be a long summer.

Belated Birthday Present #2

A HUGE thank you to all the uni guys who chipped in for the iPod. I'm gonna get so wasted this summer!

-So instead of studying for the ELEC3004 end of session test (tomorrow), I just transferred my first song, Usher's Burn onto this little beauty (On the plastic wrapping is a message: "Don't steal music" Hehe.)

-The one criticism I have is the silver casing for the back. There are finger prints/grease all over it already. But I guess that's how people make money. $75 for a carrying case? Get real.

-Memo to self: Keep the thing away from Hai if I ever listen to it during lectures =)

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come.
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

The first song I can play on the guitar (G chord version). Praise Him!
