Parking fine

Damn I'm stupid. How on earth did I misread "Taxi Zone: 6:30pm-7am"???

Arrrrgggggghhhh....$70 down the drain.

Back to work tomorrow...

But at least I had a good weekend. Rested my left foot a bit and the swelling has gone down alot. I can even walk without limping now. The next step in the rehab process is pain-free running.

Today at church we had the 'Shave For A Cure' fundraiser and 3 guys got rid of their hair. I was thinking of going for the "space monkey" look but since I had my head shaved just before Christmas I was not keen for another one. So I settled for a colour job instead:

I hope the guys at work don't mind...

Field Trip

Whoopeee! Went to my first site visit this morning with one of the project engineers and where else but good ol' UNSW? Being an engineer, I don't normally set foot in the Goodsell building but even less so is this doorway on the top floor that leads to the rooftop. On the other side of this door is a equipment cabin room containing cables, cable trays, power supply, air cons and Tx racks. Of course there is also a ladder that leads to...the rooftop. Strapped in a harness, I made my way to the top of the Goodsell building to look at some panel antennas, transmission microwaves and scenic view of the city. Not bad at all! We left the place just around 9 in time to see people rushing into CLB for their first class of the day (muhahaha). Hmmm...seems like they've done a real nice job over there during the summer holidays. It has that modern and stylish look about it.

So do I miss uni after my 1 hour visit there this morning? Yes and No.

Cheapskate

How to avoid paying the $6/per hr parking fee at Sydney Airport when you are just picking someone up?

Tell them to meet you at the departures drop-off area.

A (proper) place to work

Having your own desk at work may seem trivial and nothing to get excited about, but when you've been sharing desks for two weeks like I have, first with a graduate engineer and then with a project manager, you can appreciate how good it is to get a bit of free space of your own. I am now located on the other side of the office away from the engineers I'm working with so asking them questions is a bit of a pain cos I gotta walk more but I suppose having a landline now I can just call them. Or they can come to me. I also started stacking up stationary - pens, pencils, highlighters, note pads, staplers and I got my very own In/Out tray today..Wooh...

Work itself is starting to get a bit boring. Just data-entry and stuff. I keep myself busy with MSN and following live NBA games online. Hopefully the next couple of weeks will become more interesting.
