What a waste of a day + Krispy Kreme challenge

At a time when I should be devoting my time to study for the exams and listen closely in lectures, I had one bludgy day:

11am-12pm, ELEC3006 LEC - Spent this hour adding the final touches to the physics assignment. I don't care what other people think, Americans can be quite useful. Like putting worked solutions up on the web.

1pm-2pm, TELE3013 LEC - Did actually tried listening to the lecturer but these days whatever they say just go in one ear and out the other.

3pm-4pm, PHYS2939 LEC - Handed the assignment in and left. Went to Roundhouse and also kicked a footy at Village Green.

5pm-6pm, TELE3013 LEC - Didn't really feel like learning or listening so just talked to Jane. She's going to exchange in about 2 months and has a job lined up when she gets back. I'm gonna be stuck here repeating subjects and work as a newspaper boy. Splendid.

Gan and I then checked out the new Krispy Kreme at Wynyard. It opened last Wednesday and is located above Wynard Station (bus interchange). Here's what happened:

6:45pm - Joined the queue. Couldn't believe how many people lined up. I can see it coming. Soon, people will carry their briefcase in one hand and a bag of Krispy Kreme in the other. Even more funny will be those that carries a 'Fitness First' gym bag.

6:55pm - We placed our orders (1 dozen of originals each) and I challenged Gan to finish all the doughnuts before we get home.

7:00pm - Went back down to Wynard station to wait for the train coming in 20 mins. There we started eating. Gan stopped after 4 while I continued. Got a few looks from other people and I made a mess of the platform with the icing.

7:20pm - Train arrived. 3 doughnuts left in my box.

7:30pm - Train arrived at Central. 2 left now.

7:40pm - Train somewhere between Redfern and Burwood. One more to go...

7:45pm - Upon arriving at Burwood, I finished my dozen and win the challenge. The last three were the hardest to get down and not surprisingly I started to feel sick but not sick enough to throw up.

8:10pm - Got home, skipped dinner and vowed not to eat any doughnuts in the near future.

4:06am

Meant to go to sleep one hour ago but Coke from the previous night must have kept me up. Mitch initiated a conversation on MSN and we chatted about various things at the start but it ultimately came down to one thing: Religion. I was mainly the one doing the querying since I have a shallow background on the topic and although it was interesting at times I'm still none the clearer.

Why have religion?
What influence you to believe in a religion?
What is there to live for in life?

One cold Saturday night...

Engineers A & B went to engineer C's house to put together a new computer. One of them did most of the work while the other two watched. When it was time to switch on the power, nothing came up on the screen. So called 'trouble shooting' did not fix the problem. Engineer C got jipped (for now anyway). The three engineers then left for a 21st birthday party of another engineer (let's call her engineer D), arriving just under one and a half hours late. There they mingled with other engineers and endured engineering jokes from engineer D's family when the heater kept losing gas. It was a very chilly night and dinner was not served till very late. Engineer A prolonged everyone's hunger when he dropped ricecrackers on the ground after failing to notice it was already opened at the other end...

The night was OK but not spectacular. It was DEFINITELY too cold. 'Westieville' is not the sort of place to be on a Saturday night. No wait, make that any night during winter.

OK, this blog is going nowhere. My mind is in a unsuitable state to make sense out of anything. I guess I'll go to sleep now...

Kill Bill Vol.1: The Verdict

Just watched Kill Bill on DVD and I must say it lived up to expectations. Tarantino sure knows how to make his audience happy. The final fight scene between Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu was a tad disappointing but by then so many people have been killed it's starting to get a bit lame. Now the dilemma: Should I watch Vol.2 in the cinemas by myself (Anyone else not seen the movie yet?) or wait until it comes out on DVD and get it off Russ who'll probably get the $60 region 2 version like he did with the first one?

New Beginning ? Second Coming ?

After a two month layoff, I'm back in business albeit a different format. With Blogger I can update from anywhere (yes, I might even update from uni) so it makes things easier. Also being the lazy arse, I can bypass all the fancy formatting and let Blogger do ALL the work. Anyway, that's all for introduction. Still need to play around with this thing.
